Youth Leader

Jeff Addison, also instructional assistant and girls’ soccer coach at Hopkinsville High School, is a member of a family with a long history at First Presbyterian. His experiences as an educator, a coach and a former member of First Presbyterian’s youth group have helped prepare him for his leadership of the youth of the church. In the fall of 2014, Jeff was named Staff Person of the Year for Christian County Public Schools.

The Presbyterian Youth Group meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday evenings

Youth Program

The youth of all ages meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays at church for fellowship and study.  The middle school - high school youth also have a monthly fellowship time at area attractions outside the church.

Our youth missions include City Sights/City Lights Middle School Mission Experience hosted by one of the Presbytery churches each year. This event typically occurs in late June. Each fall a Presbytery youth retreat is held, during which an annual summer youth mission trip is planned.

First Presbyterian’s middle school - high school youth group sponsors a Christmas Shoebox Ministry that provides gifts to children in Appalachia. Members participate with donations of small gifts and help in packing the shoeboxes, which are then taken to churches in the Kentucky Appalachia area. The Shoebox Ministry is one way the youth group helps share God’s love through service to others.

Another mission of the youth is the Souper Bowl of Caring, which takes place on Super Bowl Sunday. Canned food and donations are collected to help with nationwide hunger-relief missions. For information about the mission of Souper Bowl for Caring, see
