Gayle Holder, choir director and organist, invites anyone who enjoys singing to join the adult choir at First Presbyterian. Participants need not be music readers to participate, and all ages from teens to those in their golden years are welcome. Choir practice is held on Wednesday evenings at 5:00.In addition to leading hymns and singing anthems during Sunday worship services, other activities of the adult choir include special programs for Advent and Easter and joining with other choirs in the community for choral presentations.
Dr. Joan Lester organized a handbell choir May 24, 2014. The intergenerational group ranges from middle school students to senior citizens and all ages in between. Performances are frequently given for the congregation during worship services.
Dr. Lester also leads a young children’s choir for preschool through fourth grade students. They meet on Wednesdays at 5:00 p.m. in the Primary Department.
